1953 Elizabeth II Cased Coronation Coin and Stamp Collection


A really nice boxed set of Queen Elizabeth II Royal Mint 1953 back issue coins and postage stamps, produced for the 1st year of Queen’s reign and produced as a commemorative set 65 years later, in 2018 (blue sapphire anniversary).

Only 495 sets were produced. The coins comprise of: the Coronation Crown (5 Shillings), Halfcrown (2/6 Shillings), Florin (2 Shillings), 1 English Shilling, 1 Scottish Shilling, Sixpence, Threepence, Penny, Halfpenny, Farthing. All are dated 1953 and in very fine condition. They are all in individual clear plastic cases and arranged on a fitted tray, within the box. On top of this is another tray with 4 mint issue 1953 period stamps, produced to commemorate the Coronation. Their denomination value is 2 ½ Pence, 4 Pence, 1/3 Shilling and 1/6 Shilling. The stamps are also in protective clear plastic cases. The set comes with its large certificate of authenticity, issued by the Westminster Collection. Condition is mint. The box has a protective outer cardboard sleeve.
