A very nice example of a 1974 dated British Sovereign coin, in very fine mint condition.
The coin is made of 22 carat (916) gold and weighs 8 g. It shows on the obverse the bust of Queen Elizabeth II, and on the reverse, the image of a horse-mounted St George fighting the Dragon. It has the initials PB for the designer Benedetto Pistucchi.
The sovereign is a gold coin of the United Kingdom, with a nominal value of one pound sterling. Struck from 1817 until the present time, it was originally a circulating coin accepted in Britain and elsewhere in the world for its bullion value. It is now a collector’s or bullion coin and is sometimes mounted in jewellery.
Size: 22 mm (0.86 inch)
Weight: 8 g
