c1880 Art Nouveau Roman Classical Bronze Vase

An attractive late Victorian bronze vase decorated with flowing motifs and Classical imagery.

The vase is curious in that, it blends the Art Nouveau and the Neo Classical – two styles that seemingly conflict with one another.

Amongst the floral patterns, the vase is decorated with two classically adorned seals: one, the profile of a Roman lady; and the other, two gods possibly Vulcan and Venus.

The vase is without wear and has gained an attractive, aged patina.
