Product Description

A very nice quality large copper and brass Fish Steaming Kettle in really, good clean condition.

The kettle, which dates from around 1900, is long enough to take salmon, with rounded edges. The copper body is made of heavy gauge and has been finished in a light hammered effect. The lid is also made of copper, with brass finial and handles. The inside of the body has been coated in tin, to protect the food. There is also an inner tray, with long handles, to lift the fish out when cooked. Condition is very good, with no dents to the body and the tinning is very fresh and still bright. There are no maker’s details that we can see.

The Fish Kettle was formerly the property of the renowned actors Edward Woodward and Michele Dotrice and was bought at auction, together with a number of personal items, that will also be listed on the site.
