1898 Victorian Sterling Silver Lizard Skin Wallet Purse

An unusual original late-Victorian Lizard skin wallet, with sterling silver mounts that have been stamped with the Birmingham Assay marks and dated 1898.

The silver has the maker’s mark for Fergenbaum & Son of whom little is known about before 1920. The outside of the wallet bears the monogram silver letter N. The inside of the wallet is of supple tan leather, with sections for notes, stamps and cards. The condition is very good, with no considerable wear to the interior or exterior.
