c1730 Queen Marie Leczinska of France Blond Horn Patch Box

A very rare, beautiful c1730 pressed Blond Horn Patch and/or Snuff Box which has been decorated with the side bust of the French Queen Marie Leczinska, wife of Louis XV.
The small rectangular box is made of a caramel coloured transparent Blond Horn with inlaid stars and the bust of the queen on the lid. Opening the box reveals 3 compartments, 2 of which have hinged lids. One is decorated with an inset gilded Bee. The other with a gilded deer or hart. The box doesn’t have a signature or maker’s mark, but was certainly made a fine craftsman.
Condition is good, but there is a small piece of the back of the lid missing, where the hinge is. However, this doesn’t detract from the beauty of the item.
