Product Description

An interesting, Welsh Masonic wax seal dating from Georgian times around the beginning of the 1800’s.

The handle is made of plainly carved ivory, showing signs of age. The brass mount bears the masonic ‘Eye of Providence’ as its seal - widely acknowledged as representing the all seeing eye of God. The eye is the early example, predating the more commonly seen version with the triangle. The Welsh for ‘ the watcher’ can also be seen on the seal.

The condition is good for its age, though the stress cracks to the handle have accumulated dirt over time.

Size: 6cm
