George IV Regency Carved Brass Inlaid Child's Chair

A rare rosewood and brass inlaid child's dining chair, dating from the reign of King George IV (1820-1830).

The chair is of diminutive size, with beautifully turned legs and a carved back rail decorated with rosettes and gadrooning. The brass inlay consists of elaborate scrolling patterns. The floral needlework cushion has faded to a light orange. The original red can be seen on the underside of the cushion.

The condition of the chair is good, though there is some wear to the veneer around the brass inlay on the lower back rail and the upper legs. The wood has accumulated a rich aged patina.
