2004 Beryl Cook Full House Signed Limited Edition Print 515

A signed, limited edition Beryl Cook print titled ‘Full House’, published in 2004 and numbered 515/650.

The print bears Beryl Cook’s hand signed pencil signature and the details of ‘Alexander Gallery Publications Ltd., Bristol, England’ – sole publishers of Cook’s work since 1977. Of this painting, Beryl Cook wrote: “There are ‘Ladies who Lunch’ and there are ladies who enjoy a little ‘retail therapy’, but these ladies prefer something a little more exciting. Dressed in their smartest outfits and wearing their best hairdo and makeup, they are really enjoying their weekly game of cards. I can’t help wondering if there might be some cheating going on at the back, or maybe all those long sleeves are concealing more than jewellery, as they all seem so very confident. Perhaps it’s because they’ve all got a winning hand!”

Beryl Cook (1926-2008) was a Plymouth artist famed for her representations of plump extroverted women. Her distinctive, comic style enjoys popularity across the world.

The print is in pristine condition and comes from the last remaining stock of the Alexander Gallery. The print has been mounted on card and wrapped in clear plastic to protect it.
