Product Description

A rare 1st variant lithograph of Pierre August Renoir's 'Femme au Cep de Vigne' of 1904, published by Ambroise Vollard in 1919.

Made in a run of 950 (though a quarter of that number were never printed), the etching is on vellum paper and has been signed in the stone. It was acquired from the "Associated American Artists, 605 Fifth Avenue, New York 17, N.Y." by Pamela de Bulnes of Ottawa, curatorial assistant to Kathleen Fenwick at the National Gallery of Canada.

The Associated American Artists, was a New York based Art Gallery that was founded in 1934. It ceased trading at the start of the twenty first century. The lithograph comes with a scan of the original certificate of authenticity.

The condition of the lithograph is good, though there are a few areas of light foxing.
