1806 Spain Charles IV 8 Escudos Gold Coin Mexico Mint


A beautiful uncirculated 1806 large Spanish Gold 8 Escudos Coin with the bust of Charles IV and which was minted in Mexico.
The milled standard circulation coin has, on the obverse, the portrait of the king facing right with CAROLUS.IIII.D.G.HISP.ET.IND.R. and the date 1806. The reverse has the Spanish Royal coat of arms, surmounted by the Royal crown and surrounded by the Order of the Golden Fleece. It is marked with the denomination 8 S and IN.UTROQ.FELIX.AUSPICE.DEO, and the mint mark of Mexico (New Spain).
The coin is in a mint, uncirculated condition. The gold content is 875/1000 (21 carats).
