1729 Traite de L' Ame et du Contentement de L'Esprit by P Moulin

A small leatherbound book that is titled 'Traité de l' Âme et du Contentement de L'Ésprit by Pierre du Moulin (le Fils), this translates as Treatise on the Soul and the Contentment of the Spirit.

It is a mixture of philosophical and religious thoughts that are meant to help the reader achieve a level of contentment in life, in the face of adversity and other testing times. It is written in French. The book is printed in 1729 by Elie Jacob Ledet & Company, Amsterdam.

The owner's name Henry Brock has been written in ink next to the title. The book has 585 numbered pages. Condition is good. There are scuffs and bruises and a couple of old worm holes to the covers. The blank inside cover pages, front and back, have been removed. This does not, however, detract from the overall appearance of what is a scarce and early book.
