c1925 Photo Album Mediterranean Monaco, Istanbul, Venice

An interesting photo album entitled “Places and Snaps on the Mediterranean”, dating from around 1930.

The album consists of 140 individual photographs over 17 pages. It begins with the French Riviera, showing pictures from iconic settings such as Monaco, Monte Carlo and Nice. From there, the owner finds himself in Italy, visiting the historic sites of Pompeii, Pisa and Venice. A couple of pages are devoted to paintings displayed in the Doge’s Palace. The album finishes in Istanbul, Turkey. ‘Turkey’ would infer that the album was put together after the dissolution of the Ottoman Empire (1923).

The condition of the album is very good; the pictures are clear and free of wear.
