Product Description

An attractive early to mid 19th century Victorian hand blown Purple Glass Flagon Decanter in very good condition.

The flagon has a slightly flat sided bulbous shape, with a neck that has a silver plated collar, with cut out decoration and engraving. The cork stopper has a silver plate top, with makers marks for John Gilbert of Birmingham. This may be the original or may be a replacement. We are basing the date of the whole on these marks. There is a small carrying handle on the side. Apart from a few small scratches to the glass, the decanter is in remarkable condition. The glass colour is not apparent, until you look at it against the light. This is a beautiful piece.
