Product Description

A fine looking early 20th century Japanese Gong Bell in brass/bronze, that is decorated with dragons.

The suspension loop, on the bell is also very decorative and is suspended from a traditional ‘Torii’ gate frame, made of oak. Condition is good, but there is a bit of damage to the rear of the wooden base. The features on the bell have lost a little detail from years of polishing.

A Torii (鳥居, literally bird abode) is a traditional Japanese gate most commonly found at the entrance of or within a Shinto shrine, where it symbolically marks the transition from the mundane to the sacred.

Size bell: 17 x 11 x 19 cm (6 ¾ x 4 ¼ x 7 ½ inches)
Size frame: 36 x 18 x 36 cm (14 1/8 x 7 x 14 1/8 inches)
Weight: 2645 g
