Product Description

An attractive Japanese cloisonné enamel plate, dating from the late Meiji Period (1868-1912).

The plate depicts a pair of quails, amidst the Foliage. They are flanked by two large peonies, one pink the other white. Autumn appears to be approaching, the chrysanthemums are in bloom and some of the leaves are on the turn. The plate is finished with a tight border of scrolling geometric patterns.

The condition of the plate is very good, with only a few firing flaws to the background enamel.
