Pair Japanese Cloisonné Hawk Vases Hayakawa Komejiro

Price:

£2,000.00

Product Description

An exceptional pair of Japanese cloisonné enamel vases, made by Hayakawa Komejiro during the late Meiji Period (1868-1912).

On a red foil background, the vases depict hawks in prunus trees, with rocks and foliage beneath them. The top and bottom of the vase is bordered with tight floral patterns. The fittings appear to be of solid silver.

The three-character mark of Hayakawa Komejiro/Komesiro can be seen on the base of each vase.

The condition of both vases is good. One has a few stress cracks radiating from the hawk, whilst the other has a small circular bruise on the reverse.
