Wemyss
Wemyss started life at the Fife Pottery in Kirkcaldy, Scotland and through the late 19th Century grew in popularity due to its free flowing and naturalistic hand painting style. The brainchild of owner Robert Heron and decorator Karel Nekola, it enjoyed 4 decades of popularity before fashions changed and the Pottery closed in 1932. Karel's son, Joseph, moved to Bovey Tracy Pottery in Devon where he continued producing small volumes of Wemyss Ware and passing on his decorating skills.
