c1920 Large Wemyss Pottery Painted Roses Vase

A very attractive Wemyss Ware tall vase with beautiful hand painted roses.

The vase is in really good condition without any chips or cracks to the pottery. It has a tapering in the middle shape, with a wavy flared top edge. Both the outside and the top are decorated with the very naturalistic roses. The base has the ink stamp for Robert Heron & Son, Kirkcaldy, Scotland dating it to around 1920. There is also a painted W2.

Wemyss ware items are highly collectable and popular but because of their soft paste pottery construction, are prone to chip easily. Rare to find in this condition.
