1899 Rare Royal Crown Derby Imari Style Porcelain Urn Vase

A rare, very fine example of an early Royal Crown Derby porcelain lidded vase or urn, decorated with an Imari style design in cobalt, gilt, red and unusual pastel colours.

It has two richly gilt, cockerel shaped pseudo handles on each side. The shape is an inverted pear, with a narrow stem and resting on 4 splayed feet. It is marked on the underside, of both the vase and the lid, with a red, transfer Royal Crown Derby and England mark. It also has the year cypher for 1899. The piece is in near perfect to perfect condition without imperfections, crazing, restoration or chips and cracks.
