Product Description

An iconic and attractive Troika pottery wheel lamp base, that was produced by the company in St Ives, Cornwall around 1970, with the rare mark used by Honor Perkin for only one year.

She started signing in 1968 and changed initials in 1969 when she married and became Honor Curtis. The lamp is decorated in relief with stepped and linear decoration, signed ‘TROIKA’ ENGLAND and with the painters’ initial. Condition is very good, without any damage. Comes with light fitting and a length of wire. The body is 20.5 cm (8 inches) tall.

Troika started in 1963, by the trio of Benny Sirota, Leslie Illsley and Jan Thompson (a silent partner who sometimes helped out on Saturdays). The company started attracting artists and pieces are often signed by the decorator. The company closed in 1983.
