c1840 Queen Victoria Marriage Cup & Saucer in Sunderland Lustre


An attractive Sunderland Pink Lustre Cup and Saucer commemorating the wedding of Queen Victoria to Prince Albert.

As such, it dates from 1840. It is made of a creamy white china, decorated with a combination of mauve pink transfer, highlighted in green and yellow paint and finished in a copper metallic pink floral frieze. The central motif is the image of a seated Queen Victoria and a standing Prince Albert. Underneath is written Victoria & Albert.

Condition is very good, without any damage and with minimal wear to the lustre.
