WWI German Ersatz M88/98 Economy Rifle Bayonet

An original and very scarce WWI German Late War Economy Model 88/98 Ersatz Rifle Bayonet in fine condition with its scabbard.
This is one of the harder to find variations, known as the EB7. It is all made of steel, in the shape of the K98 Mauser bayonet, but with a large open muzzle ring, in order to also fit the M1888 rifle, too. The blade has the double sided fuller and the crossguard has the serial number 8149 (indicating that it was subsequently sold to the Turkish Army) and an small inspection stamp on the back edge of the ricasso. The handle doesn’t have an oil hole, but rather a rectangular cleaning hole on the back of the hilt behind the open muzzle ring. Both the bayonet and scabbard have a fair amount of the original green paint.
Size: 40 cm (15 ¾ inches)
