WWII German K98 Rifle Bayonet nr Mint Condition


A fine near mint condition WWII German K98 Mauser rifle Bayonet, with its scabbard.

This was the mainstay of the German Army during the war. The bayonet has the black finish intact and bakelite handles. The ricasso has the maker’s code mark of fnj (Alexander Coppel GmbH, Solingen) and the date 44 (1944). It is numbered 2673 j. There is a Waffenamt Inspection eagle mark on the pommel area. The scabbard has the maker code: ddl 44 (Remscheider Hobelmesser-Fabrik, Josua Corts Sohn, Remscheid) and is numbered 5035. The bayonet comes complete with its leather ‘cavalry’ frog, with the extra leather retaining strap. It is stamped on the back with an R.B.Nr 0/0556/0078.
