WWI Military Service Kukri with Indian Inspection Marks

A very fine original and impressive example of a WWI Indian made standard issue Military Service Kukri, with its Indian inspector’s stamp marks and in a later tan leather sheath.
The Kukri appears to be the Mark II, as the Mark I which had a sunken handle nut was made till 1915. The blade is stamped near the ricasso with the standard Indian government Inspection marks. The 2 piece wooden handle is held on by two large rivets. There is a raised central ridge in the middle of the handle. The traditional leather on wood scabbard is sadly missing, but the kukri has a modern tan leather sheath.
Size blade: 34.5 cm (13 5/8 inches)
Size kukri: 48.5 cm (19 1/8 inches)
