WWII German Kriegsmarine Dirk with Knot & Straps by Eickhorn


An original WWII German Kriegsmarine Naval Officer's Dirk with its scarce Suspension Straps and Knot, by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen.
The dirk has a brass scabbard, decorated with lightning flashes and the crossguard and eagle pommel are also in brass. The cream white handle is made of cellulose on wood and it is embellished with the double twisted brass wire. There is a retaining catch button on the back of the crossguard, that allows the dirk to be pulled out. The blade is decorated with acid etched fouled anchors, dolphins and arabesques. The ricasso is maker marked ORIGINAL EICKHORN SOLINGEN with the squirrel logo. The blade is very clean and polished. The dirk has its original black velvet suspension straps with gilded aluminium lion bosses. The dirk is finished with the inclusion of its long Portepee knot.
