1850 Victorian Royal Crest Painted Police Truncheon

A good original example of a Victorian painted Policeman’s Presentation Truncheon in good condition, hand decorated with the Victorian Royal Coat of Arms and dated 1850.

The example shown is decorated with a crown with the VR of Victoria Regina on either side. The truncheon is made from hard wood and is painted black above the grips where the hand painted decoration has been applied. It is hand decorated and varnished. The truncheon has a multi grooved grip which has a baluster shape, to fit nicely in the hand.
