1901 London Sterling Silver & Cane Gentlemans Swordstick

£380.00

A beautiful turn of the century Sterling Silver (925) and Cane shafted with a riding crop style antler handle Gentleman’s Swordstick in nice condition.
The swordstick has a deep throat collar that is hallmarked with the London assay mark and date stamp for 1901. There is a maker’s mark for Thomas Callow & Son, of Mount Street, Mayfair, London. The handle is long and straight to allow openining gates when on horseback. The 42cm (16 ½ inches) long steel sword blade is concealed within the walking cane shaft. There is a white metal chape at the base of the cane. The bright steel sword blade fits snugly into the shaft with a pleasing slight click sound. The condition is good, but a bit of the shellac finish on the shaft has peeled off.
Size: 88 cm (34 5/8 inches)
