Product Description

A rare pre-WWII c1933 Early version of the Schutzstaffel (SS) Bullion Knot as worn on the parade ground by Non Commissioned Officers of the SS.

It consists of a large acorn with silver bullion and black stripes and a silver bullion ribbon, again with black stripes near the edges. It was designed to be wrapped around the leather frog of the K98 Bayonet, but was also used as a sword knot (see page 121 of Edged Weapon Accoutrements 1800-1945 by Johnson and Reddick). It was superseded a few years later by a slightly different design, without the stripes.

The knot has been used, but remains in very good condition.
