Product Description

A WWII M2 Ammunition carrying jerkin or tabard, in good condition.

The tabard is worn over the head, with a front and back bag designed to hold ammunition, particularly mortar rounds. However, they were also used to carry extra ammo clips, grenades, etc. The US Army designated it the M2 Ammunition Bag and this is inked stamped on the front. It also is ink stamped FRONT and BACK.

The tabard is made of a British style canvas and webbing material which is coarser, light sand in colour and is different to typical US made supplies. The two adjustment buckles are made of brass. The bags can be closed by means of draw strings. This M2 bag continued to be made during and after WWII but the material colour became OD dark green.

Condition is good with evidence of wear and a few rust spots.
