WWII German Navy Kriegsmarine Wardroom Wall Clock

A rare original WWII German Kriegsmarine Wardroom or Office Wall Clock, in very nice clean condition and in really good working order.

The Art Deco style clock is round, on a circular oak wooden base that curves towards the clock lens. The face has an anodised gold finish with black Arabic numerals, black hands for minutes and hours and the German Navy Kriegsmarine Eagle and Swastika above an M. Above the 6 is the winder slot and the brass key is still present.

It is highly probable this clock would have adorned the wall of a German ship’s wardroom or the offices of a Naval establishment. It would have served as a general time display and not used for navigational purposes. Time indication signals were received on a daily basis which were then compared to the time shown on the radio station’s clock. Any deviation was rectified and duly noted in a journal. The maker is not marked, but similar examples were made by Junghans. wooden case with a brushed steel dial with Arabic numerals and an outer chapter ring with twenty-four-hour markers. The clock has been serviced recently.
