WWII RAF Mark VIII Pilot Flying Goggles

A well preserved pair of c1944 WWII Royal Airforce (RAF) Mark MKVIII Flying Goggles.
The goggles retain their original blue-grey paint to the frame with a cushioned dark brown tan leather back. The goggles would have had the Air Ministry A.M. on the leather, but wear has rubbed it out. The frames are fitted with split-angled glass eyepieces. There should be a mark on the leather nose bridge, but it is no longer visible. The goggles come with the original black & leather tab head strap.
The MkVIII goggles were the final and most successful of the RAF issue flying goggles during the Second World War. Introduced officially in October 1943, they were not supplied to aircrew until the earlier stocks were exhausted.
