c1916 WWI RND Hood Cap Badge & Shoulder Titles


A rare set of original WWI issue Cap Badge and Shoulder Titles as worn by the members of the Hood Battalion of the Royal Naval Division, which fought as infantry during WWI.
The brass cap badge has the family Crest of Admiral Hood (1724-1816) and depicts a Cornish Chough and anchor beneath 2 scrolls with STEADY and HOOD. The reverse has 2 stamped lugs set in a vertical axis. The 2 brass shoulder titles are identical and both have slightly offset horizontal lugs. They come with their original brass back plate and slider. The badges are mounted on white cardboard. Condition is as new and they are fully guaranteed as original by us.
The WWI Royal Naval Division was composed of sailors from the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve to act as 2 Brigades with 4 Battalions bolster the Infantry. 1st Brigade were Benbow, Collingwood,Hawke and Drake. 2nd Brigade were Howe, Hood, Anson and Nelson. There was also a RND Machine Gun Battalion.
