WWII German Luftwaffe Airforce Recognition Armband

This is an original example of a very desirable Deutsche Luftwaffe Armband.

This pattern of armband was issued to air crew for use if they had to bail out of an aircraft, to identify themselves easily to German units, friendly civilians or police, on the ground. It is printed in black ink on a golden yellow cotton fabric and features a flying eagle and swastika Luftwaffe emblem over the wording ‘Deutsche Luftwaffe’ (German air force). The edges are finished with white machine stitching, and the armband is factory sewn together in the back, as these were issued. On the inside, the black ink has soaked through the fabric and is visible in reverse, a typical trait of period printing.

This Deutsche Luftwaffe armband has no stains or holes and remains pristine and very clean. This is a scarce armband to find and would be a great addition to a pilot or aircrew display.

The condition is near mint.
