1903 Sterling Silver Art Nouveau Fruit Bowl


A very attractive Art Nouveau design Sterling silver (925) Fruit Bowl.

The bowl is made of heavy gauge silver sheet and has an elegant design, developed in the early 20th century. It stands on 3 organic shape feet. The silver is hallmarked by the London Assay Office and has the date stamp of 1903. It has the maker’s mark for Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co Ltd, of Regent Street, London. The company was founded 1880 by William Gibson & John Lawrence Langman. It amalgamated into Garrard & Co, in 1952. On the underside of the base is stamped GOLDSMITHS & SILVERSMITHS’ COMPANY – 112 REGENT ST. LONDON. Condition is good with a few small nicks and bruises to the silver.
