1832/1857 London Set of 6 Sterling Silver Dinner Forks

A very fine quality partial set of six heavy Sterling Silver Dinner Forks in very good condition, showing little wear and very clear Hallmarks.

The forks have the London Silver Assay marks and 1 has the date stamp for 1832, whilst the other 5 have the stamp for 1857. This makes the former George IV reign and the latter Victorian. Despite this, the forks are near identical in appearance, being plain and having fiddle back shape. They all share the Gothic B family cypher. The first fork is made by William Eaton. The others are by Samuel Hayne & Dudley Cater, successors to a business founded in 1756 by Thomas Wallis. It closed in 1865.
