Product Description

An impressive c1750 Sterling tea caddy spoon that was made in the Netherlands.

It carries the Amsterdam Assay Office mark which dates it to before the 1809 French occupation, when the marks were abolished. Furthermore, it has British Sterling Silver import marks for Chester with the date 1907 and the importers name B. Muller Ltd. The spoon is very ornately decorated with a reponsseé bucholic scene showing a milk maid milking a cow in a paddock, by a stream. The handle is curled with an affixed coat of armsand a child and rabbit finial.

The Dutch Hallmarks are relatively worn but still legible, the British marks however are very clear.

A fine collectible piece.
