1931 Cased set of 6 Sterling Silver Dessert Knives


A very nice quality cased set of 6 Sterling Silver Dessert Knives by the renowned maker James Deakin & Sons, in very good condition.

The knives have silver handles, finishing in an asparagus tip type head. The blades are in very brightly polished stainless steel and are etched with ‘STAINLESS James Deakin & Sons Ltd Sheffield’. The silver is hallmarked with the Sheffield Assay marks and the date stamp of 1931. The maker’s mark is the shield with J D W D (John and William F. Deakin) used from about 1883 to 1932.

The wooden case is covered in a burgundy red leatherette. The inside is lined with black velvet and cream silk.
