1746 George II London Sterling Silver Marrow Scoop

A rare George II Sterling Silver marrow scoop assayed for London and dated 1746.

The date and city mark are worn, but the outline of an ‘L’ and the crown of the Leopard can be seen. The maker mark is clear and for “J:W”, corresponding to James Wilks, a silversmith active in the era of George II.

The condition of the scoop is excellent.
