1753 George II Sterling Silver Cream Jug by John Muns

£350.00

A lovely looking George II Sterling Silver Cream Jug in very good condition.

The jug has a baluster form raised upon three legs with trifid feet. The body has embossed decoration of foliage, flowers and scrolls, with a plain area at the front for engraving the owner’s cypher or family crest. The jug is hallmarked with the London Assay mark and the date stamp of 1753. It has the maker’s mark for John Muns of London. He registered in 1754 and died 1768, so his wares are quite scarce.
