It is the Le Cadre du Chevalier de Hadoque (the painting of Sir Francis Haddock), that features in the Tintin adventure ‘Le Secret de La Licorne’ and ‘Le Tresor de Rackham Le Rouge’, famously combining combatting crime and retrieving sunken treasure. Sir Francis Haddock is Captain Haddock’s ancestor and the original captain of the Unicorn. The miniature model (Stock number 5610) is cast in lead alloy and hand painted. It is in near mint condition. On the underside of the figure is a miniature mark for Copyright Herge - Pixi Paris.

The Portrait Painting comes with its certificate of authenticity, numbered 331/1600. It was produced in 1995 and comes with its original red box. The box is also in very nice condition, with minor scuff marks in the corners.

The Adventures of Tintin are a cartoon collection of books and are celebrated all around the World. Tintin is a reporter, who, together with his faithful dog Milou (Snowy in the English version) and friend Captain Haddock, solve mysteries, crimes that are quite sophisticated and very often highly political, meaning that they are appreciated by young and old alike. Topics such as The Japanese Imperial invasion of China, the Opium and Slave trades, Weapons sales to Arab and South American countries, the Communist Block, Organised Crime in the USA and around the World are all covered in the books.
Pixi produced some 20 different pieces of Tintin memorabilia, which tend to be iconic items from the adventures and are instantly recognisable to fans.
