Early Robert O. Lenkiweicz Gouache Portait Man and Woman

An early example of the famous Plymouth painter Robert O. Lenkiewicz's work.

The Gouache painting shows a man in a black suit and bow tie with a large moustache, with a woman standing behind in Edwardian style dress.

The painting is reminiscent of the French Impressionistic period and this is what, perhaps, Lenkiewicz was trying to emulate.

The painting was painted on a large scrap of paper and a section of it was missing when he painted it. The picture is part of his portfolio that was catalogued and sold after his death.

It is not signed by him, but has the dry stamp of the Lenkiewicz studio in the bottom right hand corner.

It is in a light oak frame and glazed.
