1680 to 1741 Proceedings of House of Commons 7 Vols


A very nice partial collection of 1st edition of 7 leatherbound books relating to the Proceedings of the House of Commons from the Time of the Restoration onwards.
The books are titled ‘THE HISTORY and PROCEEDINGS OF THE Houfe of Commons FROM THE RESTORATION TO THE PRESENT TIME. CONTAINING The moft remarkable MOTIONS, SPEECHES, RESOLVES, REPORTS and CONFERENCESto be met with in that Interval’. It includes lists of every Parliament, the names of Speakers and Supplemental pieces. It is printed in London in 1742. The 7 volumes are: Volume II 1680-1695, Volume V 1713-1714, Volume VI 1714-1727, Volume VII 1727-1733, Volume IX 1735-1737, Volume X 1737-1739 and Volume XI 1740-1741. The books are in good condition, with very little foxing inside. The covers are leather bound and have an unusual spotting finish. The titles on the spines are gilded. The books have belonged at some stage to the Devon County Council Library as reference and their labels on the inside cover. The library reference number 328.4202 is written on the leather spine.
